Years of Educating Future Leaders
Professors Philip and Jacqueline Weinberg started in 2012 as The Basel School of Business with a clear vision that we would be An Innovative Approach to Business Education. Our mission was to make education personal, practical, and real.
In 2015 our first students graduated and we earned our Swiss-wide certification through eduqua. As we grew, we expanded our programs and earned global accreditation.
By 2018, we earned our global accreditation through the IACBE and American recognition through CHEA. By then we have travelled nearly a quarter of a million kilometers with our students — can you say status upgrades?
In 2020, like many schools around the world, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, we went online but worked hard during to keep up our high level of engagement and quality education. We could still have some classes together, and managed to do some excursion. More importantly, we emerged stronger and more motivated than ever. We realized that our model was resilient, flexible, and effective even during the most difficult of times. That’s when we decided to expand to The Zurich School.
By 2023, we expanded our scope by incorporating some of the most impactful and in-demand degree programs. That’s what led us to transition into Weinberg United—because the world is about more than just business. Our programs now include communications, technology, psychology, and beyond. So while our name and scope have grown, our core mission remains unchanged: to support every student’s success and make the world a better place through education. Whether it’s helping students find their path, or celebrating life’s milestones, we’re with you every step of the way.
By the way, the TagesWoche did a very nice story about us a few years ago. You can read it here: Expats Philip and Jackie Weinberg run their own school
2012
It began with a vision...
...and bureaucracy
Professors Philip and Jacqueline Weinberg started in 2012 as The Basel School of Business with a clear vision—to make education personal, practical, and real. After decades of teaching, they realized that much of what students were learning was forgotten. So they worked hard putting together an innovative institution of higher education that was like nothing the world had ever seen before.

2018
Global Accreditation
Oh, we are so proud of this one. Not only did we successfully complete the accreditation process but we were also given three commendations for excellence — our innovative training methodologies, our faculty, and our experiential excursions!
